Forklift Tire Chains and Clearance Problems

Forklifts are notorious for having little room for forklift tire chains. This creates a problem for any business in snow country that needs to operate forklifts outdoors. For those of you that have machines with enough clearance for tire chains, the selection is pretty limited too.

The basic chain available is a twist link ladder style, with a cross chain every 4 links. It’s important to find a chain designed for forklifts (heavier duty cross chain) because if you try to use a light weight truck chain, you’re in for some heartache. Light weight chains tend to fall apart sooner rather than later.

For those machines with no clearance, a good choice would be Maxgrip screw in ice studs. You can insert as many as you need and remove them when the ice melts. These are a game changer for forklifts in lumber yards and outdoor loading docks.Maxi grip

So there are some solutions to slipping and sliding on those icy parking lots. Unfortunately these fixes are limited.CHAINFORKLIFT tire
