Farm Tractor Tire Chains for Extreme Conditions

We get a lot of calls from customers looking for tire chains that provide traction in extreme conditions. The combination of ice and hard pack snow with hilly terrain can put any experienced equipment operator on edge. Imagine using your backhoe to dig a house foundation on a slope in the middle of January…not fun. Or you’re a farmer using your tractor to move feed and material across an icy concrete pad and up a hill. Or you’re in the woods logging and regular chains just don’t cut it. There’s nothing more dangerous than being unsure about the stability of your equipment in icy conditions.

Although popular tire chains such as Roadboss, Double Ring and TruGrip tire chains will give you good traction, we also have the “big guns” for those who need that something extra:

forestrac studded chain
Diamond Stud Chain – Forestrac Studded chains are available with 1/2″ tag chain to meet any traction requirements. They are Single Diamond, 12 mm – 9/16″ rough cut studs. They are available in 25 sizes for farm, backhoe and small loader equipment.

forestrac ring chain
Ring Chain – Forestrac Tractor Ring chains are available with 1/2″ tag with 1″ by 10″ rings or 7/8″ by 8″ ring to meet any traction requirements. They are available in 21 sizes for farm, backhoe and small loader equipment.

NOTE: With both of these style chains (and most chains in general) we recommend you check for adequate clearance between the tire and machine before purchasing these aggressive off-road tractor chains.

As always, it’s best to talk to the pros. We will ask you the right questions and make sure you get what you expect. Check out our chain catalog pdf at www.kenjones.com.

Or just click”shop online” at the top of this blog.

Have a great holiday.

Brian

PS. Don’t forget, some equipment has zero clearance for tire chains. In that case we sell a great new product called MaxiGrip Ice Studs. You screw them into your off-road tire lugs. It’s easy and the are removable!
