Double Ring Tractor Tire Chains are one the of most popular tractor tire chain styles on the market. They are recommended for field work, deep tread, off road use, and hilly conditions, making them the perfect choice for farm tractors. What makes Double Ring a “best seller”? Simply said, it’s the design of the cross chains.
Unlike standard twist link cross chains, each link in the Double Ring’s cross chains are made with two case hardened double welded rings (approximately 2″ in diameter) that rotate, providing extra wear and self cleaning action. The double rings are large enough to prevent a common problem with standard cross chain…falling inside the tread lugs, thus reducing the chains effectiveness.

Double Ring tractor chains are made in most farm tractor and backhoe sizes. Ken Jones Tires can also customize some sizes to fit additional sizes such as 14×17.5 and 15×19.5, which are popular on compact utility tractors and skid steers.

As with all tire chains, you must check your machine for tire clearance. You need at least 3″ clearance between the tire and the machine body or fenders for chains to work. Note: This year we offer a new “Minimum Clearance” tractor chain line for medium sized tractor tires.

You really need to talk with a tire chain expert. It’s hard to get the professional advice or even get a human on the phone when buying chains from internet sites such as Amazon or Ebay. Other so called experts don’t sell tires! All they know are tire sizes. How can they recommend different chain styles without knowledge of the different tire types? It seems to me, if I were buying tire chains, it would be important that I speak with someone who understands specialty tires, my machine and the work conditions my machine operates in .
